The Stovall Store
It’s a pop up juke joint now, but there has been a general store on this site for more than 100 years, and for many of those years it was a post office as well.
The store served as a center of commerce and sociability until increased mobility and diminished access to public areas for fishing led to a business decline that ended in the store’s closing in the 1990’s. The store has been reinvigorated as a small event space, bar and nightclub,
and it hosts a monthly “pop up juke joint” blues band performance.
The Store has full A/C and heating and serves as the late late bar for larger events and as the late late stage for the Mighty Roots Music Festival.
